Although it's just a few days old, the MLS off-season is already rife with activity and Atlanta United are leading the way in terms of acquisitions.

Today, they added left full-back Jose Hernandez to their roster for 2018 in a deal with undisclosed terms.

The 20 year old Venezuelan joins the five-stripes from Caracas FC where he has only featured 25 times in his career, 14 of which came this season. He will no doubt be welcomed by his fellow countryman Josef Martinez who stormed MLS this season with his goal contribution.

After the club announced the acquisitions of midfielder Jeff Larentowicz, left back Greg Garza and centerback/right back Franco Escobar, it's likely that Hernandez will gain experience and play his football for Atlanta's new USL 'second team' which begins it's first season in 2018.

“We identified José as one of the young talented defenders in South America and we’re thrilled that he’s committed to continuing his development with our club,” Atlanta United Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said in a statement from the team. “He’s an aggressive 1v1 defender and has the ability to get involved in the attack.”
