Atlanta United Swoop For Timbers Star Darlington Nagbe
Atlanta United have not showed any signs of stopping their close-season shopping today after signing 20 year old prospect Jose Hernandez and most recently, swooping for Portland Timbers winger Darlington Nagbe.
Nagbe joined Timbers in 2011 and has featured over 230 times for the Cascadia club. In 214 MLS appearances, he has netted 27 goals and assisting 23.
In exchange for Darlington Nagbe, Atlanta United will pay Portland Timbers $650,000 in General Allocation money in 2018, $100,000 in General Allocation Money in 2019, $300,000 Targeted Allocation Money and a 2018 International Roster Spot.
It's reported that many incentives have also been included in the deal which could make it a record breaking sum of total transfer money.
Atlanta also receive defender Gbenga Arokoyo as part of the deal but it's widely expected his contract will be cut using an exemption.
US International Darlington Nagbe joins an already star studded roster at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and coach Tata Martino has his work cut out to pick a starting 11 that includes all of his strongest talent.
