Orlando City Acquire RJ Allen from NYCFC

Orlando City have today announced a trio of acquisitions that will bolster the team's 2018 Roster. The most notable is a trade between themselves and NYCFC for defender RJ Allen in exchange for a third round pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.

Allen joined NYCFC in May of NYCFC’s 2015 inaugural season and went on to make 53 Regular Season appearances over three years with the New York side.

The Lions have been quiet so far in the close-season but have also confirmed midfielder Dillon Powers will rejoin the squad for their 2018 campaign after moving to the club during the 2017 season.

Powers made 6 appearances for Orlando in the second half of last season after leaving Colorado, a place he called home for 5 years where he made 136 appearances.

Finally, after scoring 3 goals against Orlando City in the US Open Cup last season, Miami FC's Stefano Pinho is now a Lion. Pinho began his career at Fluminese before joining Minnesota United's 2016 NASL team and went on to score 17 goals for Miami FC during their 2017 season.

The Florida side are yet to announce a replacement for the retired Kaka who held a Designated Player spot on their roster and was one of the highest paid players in MLS.
